Mountain Lake Services celebrates 75 Acts of Service

October 24, 2024
MLS teams recently helped beautify Keeseville and with trail cleanup in Elizabethtown.

ELIZABETHTOWN | Celebrating The Arc New York’s 75th Anniversary, Mountain Lake Services joined teams from across the state for 75 Acts of Service to commemorate the organization’s achievements for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Week of Service ran June 1-8 serving as a celebration of inclusion and a call to action for continued engagement from communities across the state.

On June 7, volunteers from the Gerald B. Edwards Day Habilitation Center joined the AdkAction beautification program by watering flowers in downtown Keeseville. AdkAction board member Diana Zais joined the group for the morning effort, which the team plans to continue through the summer.

Simultaneously, another dedicated group from Elizabethtown helped with trailhead cleanup at Mt. Gilligan and at Split Rock Falls in New Russia where they picked up trash and debris, making sure it stays pristine and accessible to all.

“Together, we're making a real difference in our community and the environment. We have many projects like this that are ongoing year-round and enjoy giving back to the community,” Mountain Lake Services leadership said.

“For example, whether it is volunteering on projects with TACC or local road or bike races, schools, and other organizations, the individuals, and the amazing team of direct support professionals truly love being engaged with so many people and places. We are proud to be part of The Arc New York’s 75 Acts of Service.”
